Uncertainty Factor: High, comparing to BarBook
Cost 7/10: At 120 dollars, this isn’t a bad choice. However there are a few incorrect, and a few missing things, that definitely make’s it a harder choice to pick this one.
Shipping 10/10: OIS has nuts shipping speed, ID was at my door in one week.
Signature 9/10: The signature placement on this ID is way better than my nCA from OIS. Although, the signature could still be a bit higher, closer to the picture.
Template 9/10: Not going to lie, the temp for this ID is very well done. Some minor things need to be changed like a little bit of colour matching, real ID star placement. Also the ZIP +4 is missing. But other than that, the temp is very well done in my opinion.
Photoshop 9/10: Photoshop is very well done, ear shadows are correct, photo placement is correct. Only improvement is that from looking at barbook, the background for the ID Photo could be lighter.
UV 0/10: Unfortunately this is where OIS has let me down a few times, I don’t know what’s up with their quality control and their printers, but I keep getting sent ID’s where there is no UV present. I have gotten AZ, TN, and now MA all without UV. Yet the nCA I reviewed for them has UV, and all the other IDs other than AZ, TN, and MA. Not sure what is up with this.
Holograms 9/10: I am very impressed by the hologram, placement is correct, the initials are there, colour is great, everything.
Scanning 10/10: Scans as Valid, and with correct information. I have set the date for the ID in the future FYI.
Perforations 9/10: Perforations are cut out fully, and are the correct size, but the perforations should be moved to the left so that the tail of Massachusetts is under the last number of the drivers licence.
Raised Number 10/10: Raised Number is correctly placed, and feels nice. I’m not too sure if the way it is printed/engraved on the licence is correct though. I thought it was not put on the nCA correctly but it ended up being correct. I would like to get an OIS TX to see if they do all the raised numbers properly, or if they only laser engrave it.
Overall 7/10: This ID is very well done, some minor changes in the temp would benefit it, and moving the perforations to the left. The most disappointing thing about the ID is that the UV is completely missing, I have reviewed quite a few OIS IDs, and it seems like a few are missing UV completely. OIS does advertise pictures of the IDs that are missing UV as having UV. Don’t know if I can chalk it up to their lack of quality control, or if they ran out of ink at that moment, but it definitely needs to be fixed if the UV Is advertised.
