RetailID is implemented by the guys running the backend for the website hosting it, Dillard's in this case, which is repeatedly resulting in poorly configured setups. Exactly why this I don't know, but I can pass Dillard's all day and then immediately fail with AgeID.

AgeID is generally looking byte for byte at the barcode, and will catch far more fakes than a 'regular scan' as you must be exact or it will fail, where as something like BCS is doing much less checking in this regard. All of this can change with a simple update from anyone's end of course.

Ok cause I tested my: Lucy, 21done, OIS(Kansas, pa, old ct, ny v2 and v3, Ri) and my FFF NJ. Out of all those only yours, Lucy’s and surprisingly my ois old Ct(surprised because it’s not known as one of his premier states) passed the Dillard’s retail id implementation so I figured it was like the same thing as regular age id

It is meant to be the same thing, that is the intention, but it's not because Dillard implements it poorly where as all versions of AgeID are implemented entirely by Intellicheck. While ours will pass this and any other scanner that a real one will pass, we could also make ours pass on the system you tried, but fail on AgeID. We obviously don't do that, I'm just saying that they are different in that regard. That's the difference.

Yes it absolutely the exact same thing,As far as the concept.. I mean if it passes on Dillards it will pass in person, At least this has been my experience every single time... If you apply and it pre populates the information into the credit app then its good, If it tells you it cant verify then it's no good. same goes for Kirklands home store. Now I'm not claiming it will be the same as a barcode issued from DMV but I know for certain, it is the same as in the store, All you have to do is purposely make a incorrect barcode scan it, then make a real one (or what you see as real) I have tested this more times than I can count, By actually walking into saks fifth and attempting to look up my own account I used a id I made one with my correct bc and one with incorrect, I went into saks main store the other I tried in Saks off fifth. Again this has been my experience But then again I use Id lucy to make my bc so it may be that there software is just that good . Cause I used the same Id to that I used to look up my account to attend a party in Vegas they scanned it on every floor upon entering had no issue
