ID Photo help ( self )

On FYD website it says to take a photo using direct flash. What does this mean and would normal flash on a cannon camera work? Also does it make a difference to use a white wall or blue wall as the background?

The cannon camera would work. Just take the pic directly in front on them and make sure the shadows are not covering any part of their face and are behind them. A normal white wall that isn't textured will work perfectly fine as well. Make sure its not blurry and the pic is at least from the waist up, and try to wear a shirt that isn't a light color or white so it contrasts against the white background wall.. If its a girl make sure there aren't any stray hairs flying around.
