Magic WI Review
Intro: Just got this Wisconsin ID in from Magic, here's my review
Uncertainty factor: Med/High (thanks 21done) - Barbook and scan of real
Communication: One of the best, great CS and replies to DMs quickly.
Cost: Got this as part of a promo when I purchased and reviewed Magic's nIN.
Shipping: Took 16 days with free shipping option, about as expected.
Photoshop: Looks pretty good to me, hair is nicely cut out and good-looking ear shadows.
Template: The template is okay but it needs some work. I'm gonna start with the background. On the sides of the ID, the template and microprint look great. As you look closer to the center (left to right), however, the details and text become blurry and illegible (Look at the yellow area at the top and down by the issue date to see what I'm talking about).
In the foreground, there's also some issues that you can see in the 4th picture. It looks like there's some sort of filter over the photo but it extends downwards and makes the signature soft and grey. This issue also affects the part of the thin line of text that's below the photo, making it nearly illegible and not matching the sharp, black letters outside of this zone. I tried to leave a little of it uncovered in the photo so you can see the issue. I think it might also be over the MMM YY text below as well, it looks a little faded compared to real.
The back of the ID is slanted about half a degree on both IDs which doesn't seem like a lot but it's definitely noticeable. kprvwid noticed this on his review too from a few months ago so I'm not sure it's a one-time problem.
Look and Feel: The card feels great. Somewhat glossy finish and a little stiffer than other fake PC IDs I've felt which I like. There is, however, an issue (see 5th photo) where the matte section doesn't quite line up along the bottom of the card and is kinda slanted.
Window: Looks pretty good to me, but the photo's a little off-center.
Raised Text: Feels nice but it's the fake layer line raised text, not the smooth text on real IDs. Text is raised in the correct spots.
UV: The UV is a bit soft, including the microprint (but a little better than the picture makes it look) and bleeds through to the back.
Scanning: Scans fine on BCS.
Signature: It looks good, just the issues mentioned before in the template.
Conclusion: If Magic gets the area under the portrait and the slanting on the back fixed, I think this ID would be a great purchase for those in the midwest since the ID otherwise looks and feels pretty nice.
