- Disclaimer - So this was part of an order from idtop I received in exchange for a review. idtop is always fair to work with as their customer support is pretty responsive for an international vendor as well as they always send pictures of your purchase before they ship! If there's an error you notice, they'll typically be able to fix it before shipment. Always fair to work with. Stealth is always a priority with idtop as well, and I received exactly what I expected. With that all said, here's my review. Note I used to own an idviking nCT ID, so I'll occasionally refer to their ID as well.
- Holo - So the holo on this ID is fairly simple. Just a couple flowers and with a couple squiggly lines in the center. What I like compared to what I remember from the idviking CT is the holo doesn't stick off of the ID as much. When I felt my finger over the holo, it had a texture to it whereas the idtop CT does not.
- Template - So this template for a CT isn't half bad actually. The commissioner signature is incorrect, but I've yet to see a vendor put the updated signature on their ID. Moving on, the colors of the ID seem to be pretty good. Not overly saturated but not faded out. The edges on one of the ID's came out a little choppy, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The whale laser perforation looks good when put up to dim lighting, but seems a little to prevalent on the ID. Really sticks out to me is all. Lastly, the microprinting on this ID seems really hard to read in general. Maybe it's better that it's hard to read as it is microprinting, but some parts aren't as easy to read even when squinting.
- UV - UV is pretty good honestly. Not bad. Yes, the front UV can be seen even when shining a light on the back as per usual with thinner ID's but it's has redeeming qualities. My old idviking's UV was not very bright, whereas idtop made it much more visible. Also outlines the airplane and whale pretty well. The biggest takeaway however is that the ghost UV image on the back is only visible when put under the light. This makes it a little fuzzier than what I'm used to, but it looks pretty good and impressed me a little bit.
PS/Sig Overall the PS is fine, I've never really had a problem with PS no matter who the vendor is. The signature however came out a little small. Looks fine, but seems like it should be bigger.
- Conclusion - Connecticut is always the state I recommend to stay away from just because it's so commonly faked. However, if you're in a situation you feel CT is the best choice, this ID is fine. No it's not ISP, but it's up to standard with other CT fakes I've seen. The UV is definitely what impressed me the most, and if they have other ID's that have UV ghost images, I imagine they look just as good. Check it out, $80 is definitely not a bad price!
