Hey, just made this free barcode tool if anyone wants to use it. It changes for every state and it's probably the best out there. I'm just tired of people just being fucking retarded and not understanding the AAMVA regulations and stuff. Pretty everything that pdf417.io does but better. Hi, I’m one of the developers of this project. If you take a look at the source code, you can see that the project is simply an html file. Look through the code, it never accesses the outside web except for downloading chosen.js and jquery. As a matter of fact it never uploads anything. If you don’t believe me, try turning off your WiFi and run the html, you will see it will work completely fine.

I would appreciate if you could give some criticism on the parts of the program that you think don’t work and we will be happy to fix it up. We know that a perfect scan can never exist, but we are trying to get the 95% that matters.

When people pay for our paid generator they are paying for it to be guaranteed to a certain level of accuracy anywhere up to a completely perfect scan. If you're able to offer a guaranteed level of service like that for free we invite you to do so!

BTW: please credit original sources for code you use when releasing code!

Hi! I wasn't even aware of your tool, I'll be sure to check it out. As far as crediting the other tool, he or she released it under a MIT License and I only used the barcode creator code, so we did not think we needed to credit him or her. If you think we should be doing this different I am open to how you would go about it.

The one we have for free is just the Transgen release with all the released modules.

This is just a direct response to your claim "Pretty everything that pdf417.io does but better." we obviously don't want false information spread about our service and just wanted to clarify that misconception, the specific thing people are paying us for isn't for "generating a barcode", it's generating a barcode that's "completely perfect" which by your own quote, "We know that a perfect scan can never exist" your tool does not do.

Of course not everyone needs a perfect scan and there is space for such a free generator so my only suggestion is to remove claims like that :)

You're completely right, I think the reason that our program stands out from others is our research into the fields and inputs of the encoding of the bar code. We are significantly lacking in the actual bar code image generation and our hope was that the open source community could help to improve this. Thanks for your feedback.

And in response to the perfect scan can never exist statement, I am 100% certain that your paid service does not generate completely accurate bar codes because there are a few jurisdiction specific fields that would be impossible to replicate without working inside the companies that make the official id cards.

If you make a statement like that you will have to prove it - we offer an award for it. If you really want to put me out of business make a thread, with solid proof that I'm not meeting my guaranteed standards and you'd be taking out both pdf417.io and one of Lucy's big features in one go.

Otherwise I'm gonna ask you to not make false claims like that.

The point of a barcode generator isn't to hack the DMV database and insert false entries, it's to generate a barcode.

I was able to test out the barcode created using this tool today. Yes it worked, My only concern an its' the first thing that caught my eye is, In most state , IE, Arizona California and many others, The expiration date of the id is the month and day of the birth date with the tear varying, This does not create the barcode with that information, The expiration appears to not even be the same month as the birth month input

What can make a barcode not pass if it is encoded perfectly?? May pdf417`s always are but still fail depending where scanned. Discriminator Number?? Perhaps?
