Intro: Won this ID in a giveaway way back in November, however USPS is retarded and didn’t deliver the package until the day after I left for winter break. Therefore, I couldn’t get to it until very recently. Sorry for the delay Magic, lol.
Uncertainty: Low, comparing to bar book which has some shitty pictures
Communication: Magic is always available 12 hrs a day every day of the week. Very responsive. CS is NA based so they speak perfect English. Also has good banter lmao
Cost: Received for free but normally costs 80 bucks which honestly is cheap for the quality of ID. Magic also runs discounts frequently (right now they have MG35 for 35 percent off, they’ve done 50 percent before and also sponsor giveaways pretty often).
Shipping: Discreet as always, took the standard 2 weeks. USPS are absolute dunces and lost my package for a few days before it appeared on my doorstep, which caused a little bit of delay but not Magic’s fault.
Photoshop: Pretty much as perfect as you could get with the picture I gave. The cropping on the picture seems correct compared to a real. The only thing I noticed is that the real has a pretty heavy shadow behind while mine doesn’t, but I think that probably varies by DMV.
Template: Ok, so overall the basic stuff looks good. The colors all seem accurate, fonts all have the correct thickness and color, etc. However, there are a few more minor problems which I think could be worked out. First, the governor (commissioner?) signature is slightly thick compared to the real pictures I’m looking at. Next, the raised birthday text looks a little thick in the bottom right, although it is raised which I believe it is supposed to be (it is the only raised part, can someone w real check this?). Also, the ghost image colors look just slightly off. Microprinting is clear as fuck so props for that as I’ve had some IDs where it’s fucked. Again, overall, it looks like it would pass in surrounding Midwest states, just a few small can be made.
Look and Feel: Matte texture. Quite thin, slightly thinner than CA even, which is probably right because it is a Teslin ID.
Signature: Signature looks good, like the one I submitted. Fits to the same dimensions as the real one and seems to be the right thickness.
Hologram/OVI/UV: Ok so the UV overall looks pretty good. In fact, it might be too good, as in it is bright to the point where it obscures details, and bleeds through a little. I also bought a powerful light so I'm not entirely sure if this is Magic's fault. On the front, all the shapes look sharp and it's a beautiful design. I think the ink is about 2mm too far to the left. The back however looks almost perfect except for a few dots in the back which are probably a result of the UV printer. Again, I'm using shitty barbook pics so I could be a bit off. Also there's a blue thing on the back that I don't think is supposed to be there lol. Overall, the actual UV template is pretty damn good, but it is slightly misplaced which is a bit annoying. I've never had anyone pull a blacklight on me in like 4 years of using fakes, but it would still be nice to have.
The holograms on the front look good, crisp. There’s a perforation in the shape of the state of Iowa that is cleanly punched out.
Scanning: Scans fine, used it at a liquor store the night I wrote this because I happened to want to pick up and the dude barely looked at the ID if that helps.
Conclusion: Solid ID with basic features. Should be good if you’re in any Midwest state and don’t want to use an in-state ID. A couple of flaws would help elevate it to the next level but it’s suitable enough for basic purposes.
