A few months ago, I ordered a couple of the West Australian IDs from OIS, one for me and one for a mate. We’re both aussies living in America and figured it’d be the best bet. The IDs arrived pretty quickly and looked perfect as compared to the actual West Australian ID (which I have). The printing was great, text in all the right places, design was perfect and they looked super convincing. I’d read all the reviews before buying and everyone said they’re really nice IDs, and they looked it too, if it weren’t for the hologram peeling off.
The hologram looks perfect, but there’s bubbles under the film over all the text, such that if you bend the ID even slightly (as almost all bouncers and bar staff do), you hear a crackle and you can see the holographic film lift off. These obviously weren’t gonna fool anyone and I was kinda pissed, but everyone reckons the West Aus OIS IDs are awesome, so I got in touch and asked if there was a defect and if I could get a replacement. OIS were super helpful and shipped it out a few weeks later. I’ve been away for summer, and just got back to my place today and had a look at the replacement IDs... and they have exactly the same issue. I can attach photos, but pretty much there’s bubbling of the holographic film over the text on the ID. So these ones aren’t gonna work either.
Not really sure what to do, and who I should go with for another ID. For reference, I’m living in Colorado, and am Australian (with the accent of course) so figured an Aussie ID was best, but I don’t think anyone else offers them. If not, what state would be best? IDGod or FYD look pretty alright.
