- Intro -
- So I have a LOT of reviews to do, but I wanted to give my initial focus to the new guy on the block, ID Plug. Overall a smooth process to order from him, however his site isn't the most mobile friendly and occasionally messes up, but no big deal. Customer service was also easy to each out to. The tracking number never really worked for me, but it eventually came in about 2.5 weeks. With that out of the way, here's my review
Template
- South Carolina is one of the easier states to fake in my opinion since it's an overlay state. Overall, ID Plug did a good job with the basic details. The laser perforations of the tree are pretty well hidden too, but they don't catch the light as well as some of my other fakes. The microprint doesn't overtake my face either which is nice. While the details are nice, there are some physical flaws worth mentioning
- Cons
The laminate overlay is off centered. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but now the overlay comes off of the ID slightly. Nothing too crazy, but it could definitely be a tell. Also, the ID is a little more transparent than I'd like it to be, maybe that's just how SC is? But I'm not sure, the barcode can easily be seen from the front with very little light.
- Just noticed one more issue. One of the ID's a part of the letter 'n' in Carolina is missing. Weird and definitely a big flaw
Holograms and UV
- Some good and some bad. Overall, the light catches the holograms pretty well. But some of the little state outlines in the bottom right don't seem to reflect all that well. Not the end of the world though. UV is fine, nice bright greenish yellow, not much else you could ask for.
Photoshop and Signature
- Photoshop and signature is fine. Customer sent in a bad pic so looks good as it can get. Signature may be a tad small, but I don't see any issues.
Scanning
Normally I don't bother talking about scanning since all IDs scan pretty much, but this ID DOES PASS SHOW ME ID. Nice to see a new vendor tackle this new app!
Conclusion
Overall, an alright ID from a new vendor. It does have some issues that I think prevent it from being used at stricter places that may really inspect the ID. Definitely not ISP, but I think it could get past its fair share of bouncers and store clerks. The scanning is definitely a good takeaway from this ID as well. Still, the ID holds up well and I want to believe that ID Plug will tackle these issues in the future. Looking forward to more from ID Plug in the future!
