will cops charge without confiscating? ( self )

basically I lost my wallet that had my fake and my real ID in it, someone turned it in to the police department and they called me and returned it to me. i figure that if they saw the fake they would've taken it but im being paranoid about receiving a fine/charge in the mail or something. Do y'all think they would do that without confiscating it first?

No, they would not have given it back to you. They just simply didn't notice. The evidence of you having a fake ID is the fake ID itself, and now they no longer have that. It is a pretty low priority issue, and probably went completely unnoticed.

Think you would've heard something if they would take it further, they likely just took a look at your ID and made sure it matched with one of your credit cards or memberships. Don't sweat it

When i got arrested i had my fake in my wallet. The cop pulled my fake out and put it back in my wallet. After i got released my fake was still in my wallet and i didnt receive any charges besides an underage
