Pricing structure is intentional and meant to reflect the level of craftsmanship that has gone into this, while keeping order counts reasonable for our small team to handle. Production of nCA is significantly more complex than nIL and takes much more time for us. This pricing structure helps make sure we can continue producing to the high standard our customers have come to expect.

I would also love to review your product if you are willing, I made a review of the nIL about a year ago and have much greater experience and knowledge of IDs now than I did back then.

Nah it's just that I don't want to release a fully polycarbonate fused state like NY without it actually being fused polycarbonate with the CD/"ting" metallic sound when dropped. Something about having such a simple method to quickly determine real or fake with 100% certainty doesn't sit well with me. Fusing polycarbonate to duplicate their efforts 1:1, I admit is cost prohibitive for the time being.

The laminate was difficult, we basically had to source the same shit that they did because nothing was letting that full color UV portrait pop through enough to hold up to serious scrutiny.

Then the raised ink from the UV flatbed printer to simulate the raised ink on Cali could be broken off with your nail. Adhesion promoters and a bunch of wasted time later, I finally decided that the only way to really get the result I needed was to just do it the way they do it. So that is what we are doing. Carbon rich polycarbonate transparent exterior laminate over teslin, per a real nCA, with raised ink formed by pulse fiber laser heating the laminate causing it to darken and rise into the final raised ink. I built a conveyor system that moves IDs down a row, pausing for a cam to OCR the ID and identify it, then mark it with signature / DOB / ghost pic, then NEXT.
