21Done nIL Review - Updated Version ( self )

21Done was cool enough to send me their updated version of their nIL after already receiving the 1st version. Shout out to them! I'm comparing to my friend's u21 nIL, but it is issued in 2016, so it's a little different.

This got to my door in 5 days, which is still a crazy fast turnaround time. As I said before though, that time should get higher as volume goes up. The OVI and perfs are great just like the last version, so I'm not gonna post those pics. The ID also passes on BCS and all the info comes up on BlinkID, just like the last version.

Now let's get to what got better and what got worse. The new template on this ID is fire. They really took to heart the reviews on the first version and made the template way more crisp compared to the faded template on the last ID. I can actually read the state seal and Lincoln looks 10x more legit. The UV on front is way better too. Lincoln's hat isn't down to his nose (which I missed in my first review) and the ribbon goes all the way to the edge. They also did a fantastic job on making the back feel like the front, I would say they are indistinguishable from one another now.

Where I think the quality went down on this version was the UV on the back. Just look at the pictures below. The UV portrait of my face is non-existent. It's kinda a let down cuz I feel that if a bouncer checks UV on the back, I'm not sure the ID would pass. They a good job on this on last ID too. Maybe it got messed up as they changed the feel on the back. Another thing that got worse the photoshop job. It was one of the first things I noticed on the ID and I was a little disappointed (well not that disappointed cuz it was free lol). The ear shadows are good, but my head is zoomed out and there is so much space between the top of my head and the top of the background. Not the worst thing in the world, but not the best. I thought the RTP guy did a really good job the first time around.

To reiterate, this new template is awesome and a HUGE improvement from the last version. This is a great ID, but there are still some things they can improve on. Hopefully they can clean up the things I mentioned because they should be easily correctable things.

When working out the UV for the back, we made a mistake on a batch of 6 that went out. 4 were paid orders that have been replaced. They were too washed out on the back, yours was one of them. We have made a few updates since this one so we will go ahead and get another one out to you so you can review the new features and see the UV fixed on the back. The real ones are extremely washed out and hard to see, but yours is too washed out, so we will get that fixed. The issue has since been fixed for new orders.

The new photoshop job on the new one is much better. 2019 Illinois consistently have that large gap above the head. The newest version is correct for how Illinois is doing it at the moment.
