If it didnt crease then the bouncer is full of shit, because the only way for it not to pass the bedn test is for it to crease or bubble.

an overlay state, do you mean bordering? and i honestly figured NJ’s in PA are so popular it’s essentially being tested as an in-state, so that was my fault on choosing that.

I don't think you know what an "overlay" is, which is understandable.
States like PA and NJ have this very shiny top layer to the ID called an overlay/overlam. The reason people will say no overlay can pass bend is because it is essentially a sticker which is stamped or otherwise affixed over the actual ID, so after excessive movement something is bound to happen.
I also noticed you didn't bring up it creasing or anything, so I think the bouncer just knew what was up.........
You should also count yourself lucky the guy didn't just pocket it

no it didn’t crease. that’s why i was concerned why he rejected the ID anyway but he didn’t feel like going so far as to confiscate it

NJ is just a shitty and old ID in general. The real one looks fake to begin with

He doesn't even say it creased, just that the person didn't believe it. I'm banking on this guy got autism.

The bend test really developed back in 2009 with IDChief overlays. It has turned into a whole different type of thing now... Of course there is bending corner to corner on some states just to know that it will bend, but the test is simply that when using a sticker overlay, if you bend the ID in the shape of a C, and then release, it will usually create a crease in the middle due to the overlay being pushed together during the bend, and the adhesive allowing the overlay to slide a bit in the middle from it being crunched. Unless they specifically advertise otherwise, if you are using a state with an overlay you should assume it's a sticker.

We've played around with the hologram on the laminate and the overlay just being from a fargo. Just trying to point that out as a possibility since I'm not 100% what every vendor is doing just yet.
