box scanner question ( self )

So my friends who are 21 go to this club near me. They told me their ID gets put into this yellow portable scanner thing. Was wondering if my FYD Maine would work in there or is this one of those advanced box scanners. My Id scans on all the apps i've used. Thanks!

if it’s plugged into a wall then it’s a box scanner. Handheld is an EZ pass
