Introduction: I received this nAK from OldIronsidesFakes in exchange for my review. It's pretty nice but there's a few things that I think need fixed.
Communication: 10/10 - OIS is always quick to reply, no issues
Cost: 10/10 - Received this at no cost for my review. At $100 for one person it's a little steep but a group order can bring the price to $50.
Shipping: 10/10 - Arrived 8 days from China with rush shipping after order was confirmed. Super quick this time.
Signature: 10/10 - Looks pretty good, correct thickness and placement.
Template: 8/10 - The template itself is very nice. Colors are very vibrant and the small amount of microprint that this license has looks good. My only real issues with this template are quality control related. On the layer with the portrait, signature, and small headers (ex: "1. Last Name") it appears that the print cartridges weren't aligned correctly, making these appear a little fuzzy. If you zoom in on the photo of the front, you can see that the cyan, magenta, and yellow are slightly offset from each other. I find this a bit odd since this layer should be grayscale. The raised text (DL #, DOB, Last name, and "DL" in top right) feels nice but it's all a little bit to the right. On the back, the black layer with the two barcodes is also a little to the right, making the barcodes not centered in the white areas. Lens is fake as expected and does not shift the image, but makes the cool noise when you run your fingernail across it.
Photoshop: 9/10 - I lost a little bit of my right ear but it's barely noticeable. Shadows are fine.
Holo/OVI: 10/10 - The only OVI on this license is the flower on the back, which looks very nice. The tactile image on the front that can be seen when the license is tilted is very nice and actually has some microprint in it.
UV: 7/10 - This is something else that could use a little improvement. Everything is there, but it's pretty fuzzy and the green on the stars and whale is pretty faint, I think it should be brighter.
Scanning: 10/10 - Seems good, scans fine on BCS.
Conclusion: OIS's nAK is a really good ID. Might get some questions depending on where you use it but nobody knows what an Alaska ID is supposed to look like so I think it will pass nicely. I would like to see the UV improved as well as some of the quality control issues I mentioned.
