Alright, I got these IDs from a giveaway back in June, and now it’s review time.
At first look, I’d pass this ID easily. Looks official, colors are pretty realistic, and details look great to the naked eye. Not to mention, it feels solid in the hand (not too flimsy or anything), and it bends without any issue. Look too long or use a magnifying glass though, and that sureness goes away. The most obvious thing for me was that the UV image of the state seal in the center-right of the ID is mostly visible in normal light. Next up, if you look at any of the microprinting—both words and patterns—they’re all fuzzy and the words are illegible. I will say that the UV itself and the holograms look great (pics below), but the UV being visible in normal lighting is still questionable.
Now, for all of those minor flaws, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been at a liquor store and the only thing they look at is the date, and the issues I pointed out won’t matter in the slightest if that’s all they do. For $80 with group discounts, given that the fancy ink security features are pretty good, I’d say that’s not too bad.
