When I bought my fake recently the Bitcoin process ended up being confusing and very, very frustrating. So I’m making this guide in hopes nobody else has to figure it out by trial and error like I did. You should have no problems if you do it this way.
HOW TO DO IT:
-
Set up a Bitcoin wallet on https://coin.space. There are alternatives, but I really preferred this one because it’s quick and easy to set up and works in any browser, including mobile. Remember to write down your 12-word code and PIN.
-
Buy bitcoin WITH A CARD on https://coinmama.com. There are other services out there, like Coinbase, but Coinmama was the easiest for me. They may ask for a photo of your ID or a selfie with you holding it, but don’t worry, using a third-party wallet (see next step) will do a reasonably good job of hiding your identity. Buy about $3-5 more worth of Bitcoin than the vendor asks for, to account for slight fluctuations in the dollar value. When it asks for the Bitcoin address to send it to, paste the address shown on coin.space. It should be a string of random characters.
VERY IMPORTANT: Use a credit/debit card, not bank transfer. Card works almost instantly while bank transfer takes days to process, meaning you can’t pay for your ID right away.
Note: Coinbase may end up being slightly cheaper, and you can use that too BUT you should still send the BTC to a second wallet like coin.space before sending it to your ID vendor; this helps maintain a level of anonymity as that way Coinbase can’t easily track where you send your payment. Also note that Coinbase charges a few dollars transfer fee when you send Bitcoin. For what it’s worth, I’d still use Coinmama even if it’s like a dollar or two more.
-
It may take up to about 30 minutes for your Bitcoin to show up in your wallet, but don’t panic. Once it does, go to the ‘send’ tab on coin.space and paste the wallet code the vendor gave you when you placed the order. Again, send around $3 extra worth of BTC to be safe, because cryptocurrency is weird and is always slightly fluctuating in price.
- It may take another 30 minutes for the vendor to receive your Bitcoin. Once the payment shows up as verified in your coin.space wallet, your vendor should have received it and should give you some kind of confirmation of that. And now you’re all done!
I really hope this guide helps some people. I had an awful time figuring this all out, but once I did it was a smooth process.
Note: I’m not posting this on behalf of Coinmama nor coin.space. I just genuinely had a good experience with them. You can use whatever other service you want, just note that you should definitely pay with card and not bank transfer.
