You don't have a student ID? just go apply for one its like 20 bucks for a non-DL ID card.

i wasn't even aware that amtrak ID'd you unless it was by an inspector.

Took the Amtrak to go from CT to PA and back. Brought my real ID but they didn't card whatsoever. I'm guessing that even if they did ask for ID it would just be to verify your name unless you're buying alc on the dinner train. Then they'd obv card
