HID FARGO INK1000 ( self )

I don not know which printer to choose. This new INK1000 or HDP 5600. They can both print on PVC and 600 DPI resolution but If I choose INK1000 I will not be able to laminate. Anyone that has experience with the new printer? That advantages are there with the respective models?

u need to read the fine print on both they are no good 1 600 text only other edge to edge not over the edge

HDP5600/600 DPI print head only: • Normal mode is 600 DPI in the short dimension, but effectively 300 DPI in the long dimension (default) • Premium mode is a full 600 DPI in both the short and the long dimensions of the card.

Did you set it to premium mode in the settings? Otherwise you get 300 DPI only.

The HPD6600 seems to have excellent print quality from what can be seen in this video:

Then I look at the small images the detail is really good.

And it uses same print head as HDP5600 so it is strange that 5600 model is not good.

The printhead is 086093.

i didnt see any details but then again i need detail that does new fl since thats my template detail i need and fargo just wasnt cutting it might work good for u as long as u aint doing fl or ny

Why is nobody using uv flatbed printer type Epson L800 printhead to print directly to polycarbonate cards? Only teslin and re-transfer printers are mentioned on this forum.

Because of time , a pvc printer can do 200-500 cards without anyone being needed. Teslin u can print as many pages as the paper slot will hold without people. Flatbed is 25 at a time depending on how big it is and then u need to flip them. A big vendor would take a long time to have to do it that way.
