Maybe in the deep dank depths of the Real ID Act there is the otption to adopt RFID.....but none of the contractors who make the current IDs used by states are doing that right now.
Real ID forced all states to have an AAMVA 2D barcode and it took a decade plus just to have that happen......
My take is that your "TSA Administration person" is not a good source

Haha. I think that anyone who works for the TSA probably isn't a good source. They don't seem to be the most "competent" of government agencies. IMO.

Many Real ID IDs do not have an RFID chip to my knowledge, just buy one that doesn't. Regardless, no vendor will have a scannable RFID chip. Nobody, for our purpose of vending, will ever scan such. Most vendors will have Real ID compliant IDs however.
