Vegas Hotel Check in? ( self )

So I made a post earlier thinking this little scanner thing https://ibb.co/FgY092p was a box scanner. I was informed that it just scans your ID to pull up your booking info and keeps a record of your ID. Would I be able to check into a vegas hotel using my fake with this thing?

Because they have a box scanner that you insert the id into to check in at a kiosk if he checks in at the desk then he's fine
