I feel you! I used to overpack too until I started using the Cotton Carrier camera harness. It’s seriously made a huge difference. It allows me to carry my camera comfortably while keeping it easily accessible. I can hike longer without feeling bogged down, and when I see a shot, I can grab my camera in an instant. If you’re looking to lighten your load, check it out here: https://www.cottoncarrier.com/pages/camera-gear-load-and-carrying-tool. It’s definitely worth it for more enjoyable hikes!

While the harness sounds great, I’ve found success with a different approach. I downsized to a lightweight mirrorless camera, and it’s been liberating! It fits in my bag without taking up much space, so I can bring it anywhere without hassle. I’ve found that I’m more spontaneous with my photography because I can pull it out whenever I see something interesting. If you haven’t considered going smaller, it might really transform your experience and help you capture those incredible moments!
