Introduction - I received OldIronsidesFakes' nNY v3 this morning and here is my review. I am very impressed with OIS's quality once again.
Communication: 10/10 - Easy to talk to, replies in less than 24 hours, sometimes in minutes on Wickr.
Cost: 10/10 - Received this at no cost for my review. This is one of OIS's more expensive IDs but the price is great for the quality received if you can find a few friends to order with.
Shipping: 9/10 - Arrived 13 days after I placed the order. Not sure why, but I received 2 different tracking numbers, an invalid one 3 days before the correct one.
Signature: 10/10 - Did this one in Snapchat, turned out excellent. Raised slightly and feels very nice.
Template: 8/10 - I don't have a real to compare to unfortunately, but I've seen a good amount of NY fakes and scans and OIS is definitely the best in terms of color accuracy, not too saturated like others. For the template itself, it needs updated. OIS said this would be fixed in the next month or so when I asked but NY has been adding the Real ID star since 2017 I believe. I made the issue date a little older to try to make it less obvious. The ID number, DOB, and Expiration date are all raised and feel great. The section on the back where the laminate is matte feels nice as well. The ID makes a nice CD-like sound when dropped, I think it will pass the drop test nicely.
I did have another concern, however. The engraved text layer appears to "float" over the rest of the card and shining a bright light at an angle can make the text cast a shadow onto the card. I went back and looked at my OIS nTX and the text is the same way. I don't think legit IDs are the same way but please let me know in the comments if I'm wrong. This effect is visible in my photos if you zoom and look closely, the light was coming from the right side when I took them.
Photoshop: 9/10 - Picture looks nice but I think it fades out a little too soon on the bottom. Can't comment on the ear shadows because of the long hair.
Holo/OVI: 8/10 - NY has no holo or OVI so I will comment on the clear window. It looks pretty nice but I think the picture could maybe be a bit darker. On the ID with the fuzzier UV, I can faintly see the UV pattern on the window when it is held to a bright light.
UV: 7/10 - Like I mentioned before, one of the IDs has a fuzzier UV pattern on the front. I uploaded a comparison pic between the two. Both look a little fuzzy on the back. The card seems a little transparent and the UV pattern from the front leaks through to the back a little. Still pretty good for how complicated the NY UV is.
Scanning: 9/10 - Scans fine on BCS but NY barcodes have always been difficult.
Conclusion: I really like OIS's nNY v3 and I imagine it will pass about anywhere out of state - it's the best nNY I've seen. The colors and feel of the ID are great and if OIS is able to update the template and fix the blurriness in the UV, this will be a no-brainer.
